How we verify reviews

How we handle customer reviews and what we check.

Why this page exists

Since 28 May 2022, section 5b(3) of the German Unfair Competition Act has required traders who display reviews to disclose whether and how they make sure those reviews come from real buyers. This page answers exactly that.

Where our reviews come from

Reviews can reach us in two ways:

  • After a purchase: we ask for a review by email. That request goes only to people who actually ordered from us.
  • Voluntarily via the review form: in the Reviews area on the home page anyone can leave a review, even without being asked.

How we check authenticity

Every incoming review is read by us and approved by hand. Nothing is published automatically.

The review form lets you add an order number voluntarily. If it matches an order in our shop system, we mark the review as a verified purchase. The order number and email address are used only for that match and for a possible follow-up question – they are never published.

Reviews without an order number cannot be matched to a purchase, so they appear without that label. That way every single review shows what it is based on.

What we do not do

  • We do not buy reviews and we do not hire anyone to write them.
  • We offer nothing in return for positive reviews – no discounts, no vouchers, no free items.
  • We do not write reviews ourselves and we never pass off an invented voice as real. Until a genuine review exists, the review area stays empty – apart from the clearly labelled example cards explained in the next section.
  • We do not change the content of a review. Our replies appear visibly underneath as replies.
  • We do not delete a review just because it is negative.

Example cards while there are no reviews yet

Bloomli is new, and to date not a single genuine review has reached us. So that you can still see what this area will look like, the home page offers a checkbox that reveals a handful of example cards.

These cards are made up and written by us. They are hidden by default, appear only after a deliberate click, each carry an “Example” badge and sit under a clear warning. They count towards no average and no review total. As soon as the first genuine review is approved, they disappear completely.

When we remove a review

A review is only withheld or removed later if it

  • contains insulting, discriminatory or unlawful content,
  • discloses personal data of third parties,
  • clearly does not concern our products,
  • contains advertising or links to other offers,
  • or is obviously fake.

In those cases we document the reason internally.

Average ratings

The overall score shown is the unweighted arithmetic mean of all published reviews. Every published review counts, positive and negative alike – including the individual scores for quality, looks, delivery and service. The number of reviews is always shown next to it so the figure can be judged in context.
