What's in the box
Product description

A parrot in Delft Blue, holding a candle: this polystone candle holder is around 40 cm tall and brings a tropical form and Dutch blue together.

Each parrot is hand-painted. That's why no two look exactly alike, and the breast of the left-facing version may turn out slightly lighter than that of its right-facing counterpart. This isn't a flaw but the charm of handwork. Polystone gives the figure weight and a secure footing.

It suits the dining table, the living room sideboard or the mantelpiece, where it forms a pair with the right-facing parrot. A gift for bird lovers and anyone who loves Delft Blue.

  • Pairs with the right-facing version

Nice to know

Delft Blue emerged in the 17th century, when potters in Delft imitated the blue-and-white porcelain from China that the East India Company brought to Holland. They couldn't make real porcelain, so they painted tin-glazed earthenware instead. The copy became a style of its own that is still considered typically Dutch today.
