Artificial Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia)

Large, banana-like leaves on upright stems: the artificial Strelitzia Nicolai brings the tropics into the room without a greenhouse climate. It stands there as if fresh from the botanical garden.
The leaves are the centrepiece, large and spreading wide. This Strelitzia doesn't carry flowers: the real plant hardly ever blooms in living rooms here either, so the artificial one deliberately comes without. Three heights from 120 to 230 cm, with the width growing accordingly.
The real Strelitzia is demanding and doesn't like the Central European climate. This one looks just as good in a dark corner as at a south-facing window. A piece for large living rooms, lofts, practices, hotel corridors and conservatories where nobody wants to water.
- No watering, no wilting

Strelitzia nicolai is also known as the giant bird of paradise or white bird of paradise. The genus was named after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of the British King George III, who was passionate about botany. The species name nicolai honours Tsar Nicholas I of Russia.
