Artificial UFO Plant Lat. Pilea peperomioides Height approx. 17,5 cmNursery pot Ø 9 cm
incl. VAT, plus shipping
Round leaves on thin stalks that point in all directions like little umbrellas: the Pilea peperomioides is the model for this artificial plant. At around 17.5 cm tall, it is a size for desk, windowsill or shelf.
The base measures about 9 cm in diameter. The plant stays small and needs hardly any space; a ceramic or concrete-look cachepot suits its clean shape. Several in a row also look calm and graphic.
It suits the home office, the kitchen, the sideboard or the bathroom, where the real Pilea lets its leaves droop when light is scarce. For anyone who likes plants but has no time for them, and for rooms where pollen is a problem. No watering, no turning towards the light.
- No watering, no wilting

In everyday language the Pilea is called the UFO plant or Chinese money plant, and it came to Europe by an unusual route: in the 1940s, a Norwegian missionary brought a cutting home from the Chinese province of Yunnan. From there it travelled from windowsill to windowsill for decades, passed on as a cutting among friends, long before nurseries even offered it.
