The Swiss cheese plant is one of the most popular houseplants, and as an artificial plant it loses none of its impact: large, deeply cut leaves with the typical holes that instantly make a room feel more tropical.
The artificial Monstera Deliciosa comes in four sizes. At 85 cm it grows bushy out of the pot; from 120 cm it climbs up a pole, just as its real relative climbs tree trunks. The stems can be bent. That way you can arrange the leaves the way they look best: a little looser, a little more natural.
The small sizes suit sideboards and desks, the large ones work as floor plants beside a sofa, window or reception desk. In offices, the monstera is a regular because it fills a room on its own. For anyone without green fingers, for practices and holiday homes. For allergy sufferers: no pollen.

The monstera is called deliciosa because of its fruit: in southern Mexico, its homeland, the plant ripens a cob-shaped fruit that is said to taste of pineapple and banana when ripe. Indoors, the monstera almost never flowers. Climbing a pole is borrowed from nature: in the rainforest, it pulls itself up trunks with its aerial roots, all the way to the treetops.
