Artificial Sansevieria Black Coral Lat. Sansevieria trifasciata 'Black Coral' Height approx. 97 cmWidth approx. 20 cmNursery pot Ø 12 cm
incl. VAT, plus shipping
Upright, austere, almost sculptural: the artificial Sansevieria Black Coral reaches around 97 cm in height on a width of just 20 cm. It belongs wherever a plant should show some poise: beside the front door, by the sideboard, in the hallway.
Black Coral is a special variety: its leaves are so darkly marked that, on closer inspection, they look almost black. The narrow, pointed leaves grow densely upwards from the centre and give the plant its slender silhouette.
The real sansevieria is considered easy-care; this one needs nothing at all. No water, no light, a duster now and then. Ideal for a dark corner, reception, a practice or the home office. And for anyone with a pollen allergy, because these leaves never flower.

The sansevieria owes its name to Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of San Severo, an 18th-century Neapolitan inventor. Botanists now count the genus among the dragon trees (Dracaena), but hardly anyone calls it that: bowstring hemp and mother-in-law's tongue have stuck. The latter because of its pointed, sharp-edged leaves.
